Dental Veneers

Have you always wanted a head-turning Hollywood smile? Many celebrities have turned to veneers to revamp their visible teeth. The wafer-thin shells are typically made from porcelain and fit over the front of anterior teeth. After two convenient visits to our dental practice, you can begin enjoying a totally transformed smile.

What can veneers do for me?

Veneers arguably offer the most drastic cosmetic results of any available treatment. While certain cosmetic procedures address specific aesthetic issues, such as discoloration or the shape of your gumline, veneers completely transform the appearance of your smile. You can think of veneers as delivering a complete makeover to your smile. The cosmetic treatment can address:

  • Small teeth
  • Alignment issues
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Minor chips and cracks

Veneers not only brighten your smile and conceal blemishes, the treatment can change the shape of your visible teeth. There can be a fine line between improving your smile and going over the top. Brett Hester, DMD will take great care to ensure that your veneers are natural-looking and proportional to your facial features.

If you are interested in completely transforming your smile, we welcome you to our office online or please call (229) 247-3400.

If you are embarrassed to smile due to cosmetic issues with your teeth, veneers can offer a real boost to your professional and personal life. A bright, attractive smile conveys youth and confidence.

Candidacy Considerations

Most veneer treatments are not reversible. To receive a porcelain veneer, a small amount of natural tooth structure must be removed. Certain veneer brands require less preparation than others. If you do not wish to have your teeth permanently altered, you may be a better candidate for cosmetic bonding. If your tooth is significantly damaged, you may be a better candidate for a dental crown that completely surrounds your tooth in a protective cap.

As with any of our cosmetic treatments, patients should be in good oral health before undergoing treatment. Any lingering signs of tooth decay or gum disease will need to be addressed before you can gain candidacy for veneers.

How are veneers placed?

Porcelain veneers require two visits to our dental practice. During your first visit, your teeth will need to be prepared. Once you and Brett Hester, DMD have decided which teeth will be treated, a small amount of enamel will be removed. Local anesthesia will ensure that you are comfortable throughout the straightforward procedure. Once your teeth are prepped, an impression of your teeth will be made and the information will be sent to a trusted laboratory that will fabricate your veneers. You will be fitted with temporary veneers while you wait.

Once your veneers arrive at our office, your second appointment will be scheduled. Brett Hester, DMD will ensure that the veneers are the right size and shade to meet your cosmetic goals. Once you are satisfied with the appearance of your veneers, they will be placed using a strong cement. With proper care and maintenance, veneers can last for over 10 years. Regularly scheduled visits to our office and good oral hygiene habits will ensure that your teeth remain healthy and your veneers maintain a strong bond.
